What will the future of media + news look like in Canadian agriculture + food ?

What will the future of media and news look like in Canadian agriculture + food 100 years from now?!

A bold question to begin this Wednesday.

I find the times we're living through fascinating from a marketing-communications-media standpoint.

Especially for a sector like our Canadian agriculture + food sector, a sector that is unique in how we've maintained (and grown!) a traditional media sector, how we've embraced digital ahead of many other sectors (farmers were some of the first to social media!) and how we've lagged in certain 'new media' areas.
 
I would love to make bold predictions on where we'll be from a media standpoint, 100 years from now in Canadian agriculture + food. Especially as we celebrate milestones with the Western Producer (The) celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year, and the Country Guide magazine 'reinventing itself,' as our oldest farming publication dating back to 1886.

While many of our traditional mainstream media-news outlets across Canada are being laid to the grave, we still have a thriving media landscape in Canadian agriculture + food. To even say that is fascinating; I'm sure some of the my newspaper-media colleagues in downtown Toronto, heads' would spin as they read that!
 
What will we have to consider as we look at the future of media - both traditional, digital and 'new' - as we move forward in Canadian agriculture + food?
 
1️⃣ What will 'attainable' media be for our target audience? (free and/or paid and what will they expect or be willing to pay?)
2️⃣ Who is our target audience(s) and what are their preferences in how they consume media/information? (demographics, preferences, habits, UGC?)
3️⃣ Where will we find them and meet them? (platforms, mediums, length of visit, etc)
4️⃣ What will they want to talk about and learn about? What will matter to them and what type of media/information will they be seeking out to meet their goals? (Business/life/both?) 
5️⃣ Where else will they 'search' for news, information and be influenced? What other people/influencers/sectors/mediums will be driving how they take in 'news' and how they're influenced daily?
